Q1: What’s included in Deco’s Real-Time Protection feature?

Deco’s Real-Time Protection feature consists of three parts.

Malicious Content Filter: Blocks malicious websites that are listed in Trend Micro’s database to ensure you can surf the net safely.

Intrusion Prevention System: Protects your home network and applications against external attacks and eliminates vulnerabilities.

Infected Device Quarantine: This prevents infected devices from sending sensitive information or security threats to clients outside your network.

Q2: What can I do if the website is blocked by the Real-Time Protection feature?

Please go to Network>Protecting Your Network page on the Deco app, then go to Malicious Content Filter>Allow List> Add the website under the Allow List, and then it will not be blocked.

Q3. How to disable Deco’s Real-Time Protection feature?

Launch the Deco app, and go to Network>Protecting Your Network page to switch off the three options (Malicious Content Filter, Intrusion Prevention System, and Infected Device Quarantine).

Q4. How often does the Real-Time Protection database update?

Deco’s database will be updated periodically. However, if there are new vulnerabilities or virus exposure, it will be updated ASAP. The Real-Time Protection feature will update its database automatically if a newer version is available, and you just need to ensure the main Deco is online. If your Deco’s database is not updating itself, you can click the “Tap to Refresh” button at the bottom to update the database.

*Database Maintenance Service is offered by TrendMicro, this article’s statements are only for reference.

Q5. Does the Real-Time Protection feature conflict with the firewall settings on your home?

Usually, it won’t conflict with the firewall.

Q6. Why is my device quarantined?

Sometimes you may find in your Messages that your device is being quarantined, this situation may occur when your device is sending sensitive information or security threats out of your network.

To find out why the device is quarantined, please click the “>” button on the Message.

The Quarantine will only prevent infected devices from sending sensitive information or security threats to clients. But secure packets will still be sent out. In other words, it does not affect the normal use of the device itself.

You may not want your device to be quarantined sometimes, and then you can turn off the option Infected Device Quarantine in the Real-Time Protection feature.
