Q1: What is the connector type of TP-Link Antenna?

A1: There are mainly two kinds of connectors, type N connector and RP-SMA connector. TP-Link definition of RP-SMA connector is as follow:

1.    Inside thread with central receptacle: RP-SMA female.

2.    Outside thread with central pin: RP-SMA male. As of 2014/2/14 all TP-Link wireless routers and access points use RP-SMA male connectors if applicable.

The definition of type N connector is as follow:

1.    Inside thread with central pin: type N male.

2.    Outside thread with central receptacle: type N female.

Q2: Which TP-Link antenna uses RP-SMA female connector?

A2: TL-ANT2403N, TL-ANT2405C, TL-ANT2405CL, TL-ANT2406A, TL-ANT2408C, TL-ANT2408CL, TL-ANT2409A and TL-ANT2414A.

Q3: Which TP-Link antenna uses type N female connector?

A3: TL-ANT2409B, TL-ANT2414B, TL-ANT2424B, TL-ANT2412D, TL-ANT2415D, TL-ANT5823B and TL-ANT5830B.

Q4: How can I connect the TP-Link outdoor antennas to the TP-Link soho wi-fi router?

A4: You can use the Pigtail Cable. Normally, the interface type of TP-Link outdoor antenna is N female, while the interface type on the TP-Link soho wi-fi router is RP-SMA female, so they cannot connect direclty. The Pigtail Cable has one side with N male interface type and the other side with RP-SMA male interface type. With the Pigtail cable, you can connect the  TP-Link outdoor antennas to the TP-Link soho wi-fi router. TP-Link provide the Pigtail Cable like TL-ANT200PT, TL-ANT24PT, TL-ANT24PT3.
