How to change DNS settings on TP-Link ISP-Customized Modems/Routers
This Guide will show you how to change the DNS address in your TP-Link Customized Modem/Router on our Web interface and Aginet app.
Method1 via Web Interface
For the DSL modem router (taking the VX230v as an example)
1.Log in to the admin page by visiting “http: //tplinkmodem.net” or “http: //192.168.1.1”.
2. Go to "Advanced" > "Network" >select “EWAN" or “DSLWAN” to access the WAN settings.
Note:
If the modem is connected to an ISP with a telephone line, please select "DSL/DSLWAN”.
If the modem is connected to an ISP with an Ethernet cable, please go to Advanced > Network > EWAN.
3. Click on the "Modify" icon next to the column that indicates the "Connected" status.
4. Click the Advanced button.
5. Enable Use the Following DNS Addresses > type in your preferred DNS server settings.
6. Scroll down and click the OK button to save the settings.
For Wi-Fi Router / Home Wi-Fi System (taking HX510 as an example):
1.Log into the admin page by visiting "http: //tplinkwifi.net”.
2.Go to Advanced > Network > Internet > find Internet Setup section.
3. Click the Modify icon on the column that shows the status Connected.
4. Click the Advanced button > enable Use the Following DNS Addresses > type in your preferred DNS server settings > click the OK button to save the settings.
Method 2 via the Aginet app
For DSL modem routers/Wi-Fi Router / Home Wi-Fi System
1. Log into the Aginet APP, click on the device, and go to More > Internet Connection.
2. Tap Internet Settings and select the connected profile.
3. Go to DNS > select Manual > Type in your preferred DNS server settings > tap “Done” > tap “Save" at the end.
