How to Connect TL-WN322G/TL-WN422G to the Wireless Network with TP-Link Utility
To connect your TL-WN322G/TL-WN422G to a wireless network you need perform the following steps:
Step 1: Open the TP-Link utility window
Method 1 Right click the icon on the right corner of the task bar, and click “Open Utility Window”.
Method 2 Go to Start menu -> All Programs. Then find TP-Link program folder, and click “TP-Link Wireless Client Utility”.
Step 2: Scan and select the wireless network you want to join in
From “Available Network”, please find the network you want to join in and highlight it. Then click “Connect this site” in the “Selected Network Information” area.
If a little prompt window comes up like the following picture, please click “No” on the window.
Step 3: Configure the security settings to match the wireless network
WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK Security Settings
If the selected network is using a WPA-PSK or WPA2-PSK encryption, the security settings window should be like the picture below. Please click “Change” on the bottom-right.
When the Passphrase box becomes available, please type the password in the box. The “Key Format” should be ASCII. Then click “Apply”.
Then all options turn back to unavailable as before. Please click the close button to shutdown the window.
WEP Security Settings
If the selected network is using a WEP encryption, the security settings window should be like the picture below. Please click “Change” on the bottom-right.
When all options come available, please make Key Length, Key Format and Key Value all match the network’s security settings. Here the “Default Key ID” indicates which Key Value should be used. Then please click “Apply”
Then all options turn back to unavailable again. Please click the close button to shutdown the window.
Here until, all the basic settings have been finished. Please wait several seconds for the connection to be ready.
If the connection starts successfully, the utility’s main window should show as below:
