Install TP-Link Adapters on Windows 7 by Vista drivers

There are some cases wherein TP-Link adapters cannot be installed automatically by Windows 7. And since the development of TP-Link official drivers for Windows 7 is currently in progress, we may try to install these adapters on Windows 7 by their Vista drivers.

Following are some instructions for your reference.

1.    Plug the TP-Link adapter into a functional port or slot.

2.    Go to Desktop. Right click Computer, and click Manage.

3.    On the left-hand column, please go to System -> Device Manager.

4.    Go to Other devices. You can see a device with a yellow exclamation mark on it, which means the device is not installed yet. Please right click it and select Update Device Software.

5.    On Update Driver Software window, please click Browser my computer for driver software.

6.    Point to the driver folder in the product CD or your local disk. Select the correct driver according to the system architecture. Then click OK. (For example, if your operating system is Windows 7 32bit/64bit, you should select the folder VistaX86/VistaX64.)

7.    Back to Update Driver Software window, tick Include subfolders and click Next.

8.    On Windows Security window, please select Install this driver software anyway. (TP-Link driver software will not harm your system.)

9.    Please wait about 1 minute till the installation is completed.

10. Once the installation is completed successfully, you will see the following message:

If you go to Device Manager again, you will see the abnormal device has been changed to a normal one:
