TP-Link Unveils Its New Wi-Fi 6 Range Extender – RE605X
It's time to upgrade your range extender.
TP-Link has launched its new Wi-Fi 6 range extender equipped with OneMeshTM technology—RE605X. Different from the previous RE products powered by 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5), RE605X takes advantage of next-generation Wi-Fi technology—802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6)—to boost speed, improve efficiency, and reduce congestion in heavy bandwidth scenarios.
This powerful OneMeshTM range extender is built for the future to provide high-speed whole-home Wi-Fi for numerous devices.
More than a traditional Wi-Fi range extender
More than just extending existing Wi-Fi, RE605X can create a unified whole-home Wi-Fi by connecting to a OneMeshTM router and provides a seamless roaming experience to Wi-Fi users.
Speeds up to 1.8 Gbps
Equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology and 1024-QAM (higher efficiency), RE605X provides better Wi-Fi experience than what was previously available with blistering speeds up to 1.8 Gbps.
Higher Capacity
Wi-Fi 6 enhances average throughput by 4×, allowing more connected devices and superior online experience for all.
Ultra-Low Latency
RE605X significantly reduces wireless latency by utilizing advanced OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology. Compared with traditional MU-MIMO, Wi-Fi 6 MU-MIMO provides more streams for users to choose from and works with both uploads and downloads. Thus, more users can access the router simultaneously without any noticeable decreases in bandwidth quality. At the same time, OFDMA technology allows the network to deliver more data to multiple devices, rather than just delivering data to one device at a time, for uploads and downloads.
Save Client Battery Power
The built-in Target Wake Time feature schedules the connection time of battery-powered devices to reduce their power consumption.
Easy-to-Use App
The TP-Link Tether app provides clear directions and simple visuals, making setup fast and easy. Network control and management are available remotely through the app.
Access Point Mode
RE605X can work as an access point that acts as a portal for devices to connect to the local network. With access point mode, an Ethernet cable connects the router and the access point, which then makes the signal wireless. This provides signal strength and speed on-par with what you would get directly from the router.
Key features
- Maximum Speed: 1200 Mbps on a 5 GHz band and 575 Mbps on a 2.4 GHz band.
- Uninterrupted Streaming: OneMeshTM technology allows RE605X to connect with other mesh Wi-Fi products to create a seamless mesh network.
- Wi-Fi Dead-Zone Killer: cooperating with an existing router to expand Wi-Fi coverage, eliminates Wi-Fi dead-zones once and for all.
- Easy Setup and Management: The Tether app walks you through the setup and makes management a breeze.
- WPS (secure one-touch connection): instantly connect the extender to a router by just pressing the WPS button.
- Gigabit Ethernet port: plug in to give wired device network access, especially for bandwidth-intensive devices.
- Adaptive Path Selection: keep your network running at top speed by automatically choosing the fastest connection path with Wi-Fi capability.
