What if I failed to install TP-Link utility or driver manually on macOS

Phenomenon:

When installing the tpPLC Utility, TP-Link USB printer controller utility, or driver for the network card/adapter on a macOS, the following error messages would pop up:

"'xxx' can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the APP store"

Or "'xxx' can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer"

Or "'xxx' can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software"

Cause of the issue:

MacOS system requires additional authentication for any software installed outside the APP Store due to security concerns, which is also known as Gatekeeper.

Available Solution:

Follow the steps to allow the installation.

1. Open System Preferences > Security and Privacy > General:

2. Click Open Anyway:

3. Input the administration account of your MacBook to run the utility (if you have no idea what it is or how to find it, please contact Apple support for help)

4. Click “Continue Installation” and “Restart” to finish the installation process:
