How to set up OpenVPN Client on Windows PC and MacBook

OpenVPN is an open-source virtual private network (VPN) software that utilizes SSL/TLS protocols for encrypted communication. It provides secure remote access and site-to-site connections and is widely used for protecting network communication and access control.

Please follow the steps below to set up the OpenVPN connection.

Windows PC

Step 1: Open your browser and navigate to https://openvpn.net/community-downloads/.

Step 2: Click Downloads, then click the link corresponding your Windows version.

Step 3: Download and run the installer.

Step 4: Please enter the OpenVPN software

Step 5: Cilck on FILE, then click on BROWSER and import the server ovpn file.

Step 6: Please check the server setting, then click on CONNECT.

Step 7: If it shows connected, the openvpn connection is established successfully.

Note: If an error message appears that Server version is too low, you can go to Settings>Advanced Settings>Security Level and select Insecure to solve the issue.

MacBook

Step 1: Open your web browser and navigate to https://openvpn.net/client-connect-vpn-for-mac-os/

Step 2: Click on the Downloads option to download the OpenVPN connect for macOS.

Step 3: Once your download is complete, select installer for your operation system and install the OpenVPN software.

Step 4: Please enter the OpenVPN software, Cilck on FILE, then click on BROWSER and import the server ovpn file.

Step 5: Please check the server setting, then click on CONNECT

Step 6: If it shows connected, the openvpn connection is established successfully.

Note: If an error message appears that Server version is too low, you can go to Settings>Advanced Settings>Security Level and select Insecure to solve the issue.
