USING A DOMAIN NAME TO LOG INTO TP-Link NETWORKING DEVICES

User Application Requirement
Updated 07-08-2016 05:55:05 AM 100754

TP-Link offers users the option of using either an IP address or a domain name to access and configure their TP-Link networking devices.

Below are the official domains currently in use:

Router - http://tplinkwifi.net

Cable Modem Router & DSL - http://tplinkmodem.net

Range Extender - http://tplinkrepeater.net

Wireless PLC - http://tplinkplc.net

There may arise instances in which we update or change the site domains we use.  Since 2015 we have discontinued using two such domains: tplinklogin.net and tplinkextender.net.  However, this does not affect TP-Link devices or the security of our customers’ networks.  If trying to access these discontinued domains when connected to any TP-Link networking device, users will be automatically redirected to the device's web user interface.

For users with older or end-of-life TP-Link products with discontinued site domains, or if users are still unsure of their security, please use the IP address to access the device.

Below are the default IP addresses for TP-Link networking devices:

  • Router: 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
  • DSL and Cable Modem and Router: 192.168.1.1
  • Range Extender and Powerline Extender:

          。Default: 192.168.0.254
。Configured: Find the IP address for the device in your router’s DHCP Client list and use that IP address to access the device

TP-Link has and will always prioritize the security of our products, whatever their date of manufacture. We are unwavering in our commitment to protect the safety of our customers.

If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us through the support page on our website: support.html

*Since TP-Link networking products bought and sold in China have never used these domains, this is a non-issue for customers of this region.
