How to configure Recording Schedule on VIGI IPC

This article introduces how to configure recording schedule on the VIGI IPC.

Introduction
To store videos recorded by the VIGI IPC on an inserted micro SD card, you can customize the recording time and type by configuring the recording schedule.
Configuration
Continuous Recording
When Continuous Recording is enabled, the device will record videos according to your schedule.
You can schedule continuous recording by following these steps:
Step 1. Log in to the IPC’s management web interface, and go to Settings > Storage > Recording Schedule. The default setting is all-day event recording.
Step 2. The timeline displays 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. Select Continuous Recording in the upper left corner, and then select the desired period (accuracy: 1hour) for continuous recording. Then click Save to apply the schedule.
Step 3. For more precise scheduling, click Edit on the right side of the timeline to access the editing page. You can set up to 6 periods for each day. Click Start Time/End Time to define the periods with an accuracy of 1 second, select the Type of schedule, and check Set to activate the desired schedule. Besides, you can copy your settings to other days of the week below.
Once the configuration is complete, click OK to return to the timeline from Step 2. You can now confirm whether your configuration is correct. Then, click Save.
Step 4. To clear the schedule for a specific hour, click the desired period on the timeline. If you want to remove all recording schedules, just click Clear Schedules and remember to click Save.
Event Recording
When Event Recording is enabled, the device will record videos according to the schedule when an event is detected.
You can configure the event recording schedule following the steps below:
Step 1. Log in to the IPC’s management web interface, and go to Settings > Storage > Recording Schedule. The default schedule is all-day event detection recording.
Step 2. The timeline displays 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. Select Event Recording in the upper left corner, and then choose the desired period (accuracy: 1hour) for event recording. To clear the schedule for a specific hour, click the desired period on the timeline. Then click Save to apply your changes.
Step 3. In addition, you can click Edit on the right side of the timeline to access the editing page for more accurate schedule settings. You can set up to 6 periods for each day. Click Start Time/End Time to define the period with an accuracy of 1 second, select the Type of schedule, and check Set to activate the desired schedule. Besides, you can copy the schedule settings to other days of the week below.
Once the configuration is complete, click OK to return to the page from Step 2. You can now confirm whether your configuration is correct on the timeline. Then, click Save.
Step 4. To clear the schedule for a specific hour, simply click the desired period on the timeline. If you want to remove all recording schedules, just click Clear Schedules. Then click Save to apply your changes.
Advanced Settings
In Advanced Settings, you can set a delay time for event recording. After an event occurs, recording will continue until the delay time ends.
Set Delay Time as below:
Step 1. Log in to the IPC’s management web interface, and go to Settings > Storage > Recording Schedule. The default Delay Time is set to 10 seconds.
Step 2. Adjust the Delay Time to any value between 0 and180 seconds according to your needs and click Save.
Disable Recording
To disable the recording function of the IPC, you can either disable the Recording Schedule, or click Clear Schedules to clear all schedules.
Verification
Continuous Recording
Wait at least 15 seconds during the continuous recording period, and then view the playback via the VIGI App/VIGI Security Manager/VMS to check whether the start time and type are correct.
Event Recording
Step 1. When the Events function is enabled and an event occurs during the continuous recording period, wait at least 30 seconds, and then view the playback via the VIGI App/VIGI Security Manager/VMS to check whether the start time and type align with your settings.
Step 2. Check the total duration of event recording to see if the delay time configuration takes effect.
Disable Recording
View playback via the VIGI App/VIGI Security Manager/VMS. If the recording function is disabled, there will be no video recorded from the moment of disabling.
