TP-LINK AV500, AV600, AV1000, etc powerline adapters adopt HomePlug AV2 Standard, so they are compatible with each other. However, the powerline rate will drop to the lowest one’s rate when using different AV adapters together, and in rare cases, it may cause unstable or pairing issues because of the low powerline rate.

Therefore, to ensure good performance, we strongly recommend purchasing the same series of powerline products.

For example, if you already have a set of 8 series like TL-WPA8631P KIT and need to purchase an additional one, it will be better to select 8 series as well.

For adapters of other brands, if they adopt the same standard, they should also be compatible with TP-LINK adapters theoretically. However, different brands’ products will have different ways to pair and configure or the other brands may have any limits, it might be much easier to use adapters from the same brand. We don’t recommend you use the different brands together.
