For pre-sales inquiries or after-sales issue, some customers want to verify whether the network adapter is compatible with operating system of their PC and how to find the driver for it.

Note: The operating system includes Windows, Mac and Linux.

How to do that?

Below we take TL-WN722N V3 as examples

For Windows OS:

First, you can go to TP-Link official website https://www.tp-link.com and search the model number of the network adapter you have.

Then go to Support-Driver page, once you found there is an official driver for your PC, that means it is compatible with each other.

Note: For some TP-Link wireless adapters, some Windows operation systems have equipped with the built-in inbox driver, which means that you could plug and play.

So if there is no official driver for Windows PC, you can ask for human service to verify whether it can be plug and play.

For Mac OS:

First, you can go to TP-Link official website https://www.tp-link.com and search the model number of the network adapter you have.

Then go to Support-Driver page, once you found there is an official driver for your computer, that means it is compatible with each other.

For Linux OS:

First, for the adapters that have official driver for Linux OS. Below we take TL-WN722N V3 as example.

  1. Please go to TP-Link official website https://www.tp-link.com, and go to Download center.

  1. Then select the specific model number and click Driver page, and then you can find the TP-Link official driver for Linux PC. That is to say, once it lists Linux driver, that indicates the network adapter is compatible Linux OS.

Note:

Please check the Linux kernel version firstly. If it exceeds the kernel version we support, it is suggested to get help from some online forum, like Github.

The hardware version is important, you can refer to How to find the hardware version on a TP-Link device?

 https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/46/

On the other hand, if there is no TP-Link official driver for the Linux on the website, please contact TP-Link support to confirm whether your adapter is linux compliant.  Some of adapters can find the public driver released by the manufacturer of chip online.
