Introduction
The default username and password of Omada switch are admin/admin. For security, we recommend setting a more complex username and password. If you forget the username and password you set, this article will tell you what to do.
- For Unmanaged, Easy Smart, Easy Managed, Smart Switches
These types of switches usually have a physical Reset button on the device. If you have forgotten the login username or password, you may need to factory reset the device by pressing and holding this button until the SYS LED starts flashing rapidly.
- For L3/ L2+ Managed Switches
These types of switches usually do not have a physical Reset button on the device. If you have forgotten the login username or password, you can enter the bootUtil menu of the switch through the serial port to reset the login username and password without losing other configuration information.
Password Recovery
Step 1. Connect the PC to the console port of the switch using a serial cable.
Step 2. Use a terminal program such as PuTTY or TeraTerm to connect to the switch. By default, the baud rate of Omada switches is 38400.
Step 3. Power on the switch again to reboot the switch.
Step 4. When the terminal shows “Hit any key to stop autoboot”, press any key within three seconds to enter the menu of bootUtil.
Step 5. Enter the number 6 and press enter to match the "Password Recovery" option.
When prompted "This will delete all the previously created accounts. Continue? [Y/N]:", type the letter Y and press enter.
After the operation is completed, the user and password are restored to the default value: admin/admin.
Step 6. Enter the number 3 and press enter to match the "Start" option. Then wait for the switch to boot.
