How to set up Geofencing on the Tapo/Kasa App
Geofencing is a location-based service that creates a virtual boundary around a specific geographic area. When a mobile device enters or exits this virtual boundary, it triggers a pre-defined action or event. Automate your life with Geofencing like “Turn off the power when you leave home”.
Set up for Geofencing:
1. Turn on location permission for Tapo/Kasa app:

Note: Tapo/Kasa needs you to allow "All the time location permission" to run the location-based Geofencing Smart Actions. If allowed, the app will receive location updates even when in the background.
2. Go to “Me” on the Tapo/Kasa app >”Tapo/Kasa Lab”> ”Geofencing” > ”Enable Geofencing”:
(Here, we have an example of images from the Tapo app)
3. Go to “Smart” on the Tapo/Kasa app >Tap ”+” at upper right > Tap “Automation”:
4. Tap “Add trigger” >”Arrive/Leave” > Choose “Arrive/Leave” > Enable ”This Phone/Tablet” > Choose Location(Identify map coordinates and the Effective Radius) > Tap "Done" in the top right corner of this page.
Note: Please ensure that the "This Phone/Tablet" option is enabled. If it is not enabled, the Geofencing Smart Action will not function. If you have multiple devices, ensure that the 'This Phone/Tablet' option in the corresponding Smart Action rule settings is enabled on each device; this will allow each device to trigger the Geofencing Smart Action when entering or leaving the designated location.
5. Tap “Add Action” >Add Action you want (Such as Turn on P115) > Create the new Smart Action Name and Effective Time > Tap "Done."
