The TP-Link EAP610-Outdoor can be configured in Repeater Mode, starting in firmware 1.1.3 Build 20230330. In this article, we will outline both methods of the Repeater Mode configuration process.

Note: Prior to Repeater Mode setup, please make sure your EAP device is in factory default configuration. A factory reset may be required.

Method One: Via Standalone Management Interface

1. Using the steps outlined in the included setup guide, ensure your PC and EAP610-Outdoor are within the same subnet and login to the EAP Standalone Management Interface via the EAP’s IP address in a web browser.

2. Create a new administrator account, then choose Repeater Mode when prompted.

3. Choose the Wi-Fi band you plan to extend. Click the Scan button to display available SSIDs to extend.

4. Select the desired SSID, then assign the Range Extender SSID for the EAP610-Outdoor. This can be the same as the root network (e.g., clone SSID), or customized.

5. Repeat the steps for the remaining Wi-Fi band, complete the setup process, and enjoy extended Wi-Fi with this Operation Mode.

Method Two: Setup Using the Omada App via Smartphone

  1. Ensure your EAP610-Outdoor is in its factory default configuration. A factory reset may be required.
  2. Connect your smartphone to the default SSID of the EAP610-Outdoor, open the Omada App, navigate to the Standalone APs menu, and tap the EAP610-Outdoor.

2. Create a new administrator account, then choose Repeater Mode.

3. Select your preferred Wi-Fi band, then tap SSID to begin scanning for available networks to extend.

4. Assign an SSID for your EAP610-Outdoor to broadcast in Repeater Mode.

5. Confirm settings, complete setup, and enjoy extended Wi-Fi coverage.
