What can I do if my Smart Devices fail to update the firmware?

1. Restart Devices: Power cycle your router and the smart device.

2. Check Network Connection: Move the device closer to the router for a better connection. See this FAQ for optimization tips.

3. Use Mobile Hotspot: If needed, connect the device to your phone's hotspot and try the upgrade again.

4. For Hub and sub-devices: For devices like C420 and sensors that use a hub, place them near the hub for a strong connection. See this FAQ for optimization tips.

Why do some of my Tapo devices update to the latest firmware while others do not?

Our firmware updates are released progressively, meaning that if you have multiple devices of the same model, it's normal for some devices to receive the update while others may not detect the new firmware yet. This process typically takes a few weeks to a month.

If you prefer not to wait, you can enable the Auto Update feature under Device Settings > Firmware Upgrade. This will ensure that your devices automatically update to the latest firmware once the rollout is complete.
