official statement

Overview

Products have lifecycles and eventually leave the market for various reasons, such as declining demand, the release of new technology, or the development of better products. TP-Link discontinues support and maintenance, including security updates, for such products.

Refer to TP-Link End of Life Products to check the full list of our products that have already been taken off the market. You can check your product’s model and version number on the product. If your product has been taken off the market, we recommend purchasing a new product to ensure better performance and security.

Definition and Action

End of Sales

  • The End of Sales (EOS) date is when TP-Link discontinues a product. After this date, TP-Link will no longer accept new orders for the product.
  • TP-Link will provide a notification (the “End of Sales Notification”) around 3 months before the EOS date.

End of Maintenance

  • The End of Maintenance (EOM) date is when TP-Link will no longer provide support or maintenance for a product. After the EOM date, the product’s functionality may be limited (e.g., it may only connect to a local network or cease to work entirely).
  • Unless otherwise required by law, the EOM date is usually 3 years after the EOS date. TP-Link may decide at its discretion to continue offering maintenance for a longer period to address significant vulnerabilities and bugs.

Policy Details

TP-Link will provide information about upcoming EOS dates and migration options on TP-Link's website. TP-Link may also send notifications through the TP-Link Notification Service. When a product reaches its EOS date, TP-Link will not accept new orders for that product.

Note that the EOM date does not affect TP-Link’s product warranty. TP-Link will continue to fix hardware and replace parts according to its official warranty and replacement policy. TP-Link’s Customer Service Center (CSC) is available to assist customers with products under warranty.

TP-Link will continue to provide support for an in-warranty product after the EOS date, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable product Warranty. EOL will not change the hardware’s limited warranty period from the customer’s purchase date. Warranty and other related details depend on the local TP-Link distribution sales policy.

Available and EOS versions and models may vary by region. Please contact your local TP-Link representatives for the most recommended versions/models.
