The Tapo Smart Door Lock comes with a rechargeable battery. When the battery needs recharging, follow the instructions below:

  1. Remove the battery cover of the interior assembly.
  2. Plug the provided USB cable into the battery's Type-C port, then connect it to a power outlet via a USB adapter with 5V output.

Battery LED Indication:

  • Charging: Solid amber
  • Fully charged: Solid green

Note:

1) Charging will take a few hours. A 5V/2A adapter is recommended for best charging performance.

2) The USB adapter is not provided.

Insert the battery into the interior assembly after it has been charged. If you haven’t set up a Wi-Fi network for your door lock, please open the Tapo app and connect your phone to your lock to synchronize the time.

After reinstalling the battery, if your lock is not connected to a Wi-Fi network, your lock's local time cannot be automatically synchronized. This means that any scheduled PIN codes you have set will not take effect. To resolve this issue, please open the Tapo app and connect to the lock to retrieve the accurate time.
