Plenty of users have found previous Super G products are not operatively compatible with 802.11b products. However, in recent years, both 802.11b & 802.11g products have improved to perform quite well in this respect. So much so now, that it is no longer necessary to buy wireless products of the same brand or same chip supplier. For example, the TL-WR641G, a previously launched Super G wireless router from TP-Link, can reach as high as 25.91Mbps when in sync with the G-302 PCI adapter from ZyCEL. You can also expect the network to be very stable, even with a desktop PC using a PCI card.

Additional eXtended Range
TL-WR641G not only supports 108Mbps Super G, but is also equipped with eXtended Range(XR) technology that can enhance both reception and launch capabilities. Moreover, it’s able to adjust power consumption based on the different distance between wireless equipments. In high signal-to–noise ratio environment, wireless signals can be weakened so that the adapter which supports XR can reduce its power consumption, while in low signal-to-noise ratio environment, this function is intended to increase signal coverage and enhance remote reception ability. In addition, other than supporting WEP, WPA//WPA-PSK and WPA2/WPA2-PSK encryption, TL-WR641G also supports firewall, including IP address filtering, domain filtering and MAC address filtering to restrict user access rights.
High compatibility
At present, most laptop users choose 54Mbps wireless adapters which surprisingly, when connected to the TL-WR641G, transmit a great deal faster. In order to test uploading/downloading speed, this writer introduced the G-302 v3 PCI adapter from ZyXEL with the TL-WR641G, and found that the average transmission speed reached 20Mbps with a slightly slow link speed at first, and with a maximum uploading/downloading speed of 25.91Mbps and 25.65Mbps respectively.
