How to use the HomeShield Reward Feature on a TP-Link Router or Deco Mesh System

One of the features offered by HomeShield is the ability to add extra online time – for example, as a reward for a child’s good behavior. This feature is available to HomeShield Subscription Service users only.

Before we begin:

• You will need a TP-Link HomeShield router and an iOS device running iOS 9 or later, or an Android device running Android 4.2 or later.

• You will need to download and install TP-Link Tether app or TP-Link Deco app on your device.

Refer to the steps below to set up and use this feature:

Note: We will be using the Deco app as an example in this guide.

First, your HomeShield subscription will need to be enabled on the target Deco Mesh network:

1. Open Deco app.
2. Swipe right to open the menu and select HomeShield.

3. Select the network to which you would like to apply Advanced Parental Controls.

Now that your HomeShield subscription service has been enabled on the network, you can use the Parental Controls to manage Rewards:

1. Open the Deco app.
2. Go to the Parental Controls tab and select a profile.

3. Tap Adjust and select the allowed time you want to add for today.

Done! You have successfully added the specified Allowed Time as a Reward for this Parental Control Profile.
